Gaikwad, Rinku, Prasidh and Bumrah sparkle as India seal series win. Andy Balbirnie’s 72 was not enough as Ireland finished 34 short of their target of 186.

Brief Score: India 185 for 5 (Gaikwad 58, Samson 40, Rinku 38, McCarthy 2-36) beat Ireland 152 for 8 (Balbirnie 72, Bumrah 2-15, Prasidh 2-29, Bishnoi 2-37) by 33 runs

Player of the Match: Rinku Singh

India secured a 33-run victory over Ireland in the second T20I at Malahide Club ground in Dublin.

India posted a strong total of 185 for 5 after being asked to bat, with notable contributions from Ruturaj Gaikwad (58), Sanju Samson (40), and Rinku Singh (38).

In response, India’s bowlers performed impressively, with Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravi Bishnoi taking six wickets collectively.

Prasidh removed Irish captain Paul Stirling and Lorcan Tucker in his first over, while Bishnoi dismissed Harry Tector with a googly.

Despite Andrew Balbirnie’s determined fifty, Ireland struggled to keep up with the ever-increasing required run rate. Balbirnie’s dismissal ended Ireland’s hopes of a win.

Before the bowlers took control, India dominated with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a brisk start, and despite some setbacks, Samson and Gaikwad’s partnership of 71 runs set a strong foundation.

However, Ireland’s Barry McCarthy bowled a costly penultimate over, conceding 22 runs to Rinku Singh, and Mark Adair’s final over went for 20 runs as India reached a competitive total.
